Irish data center to be powered by CHP

Eircom, the Irish telecommunications company, is considering the construction of what would be one of Ireland’s largest data centers, which also entails building a combined heat and power plant.

The $200m facility is proposed to be a two-storey data center covering 473,000 sq ft and a separate two-storey office building covering 46,000 sq ft for the site.
Eircom currently operates data centers in Dublin City, in the Citywest Business Park, Clonshaugh and Dundrum which offer hosting and colocation services with connections to Tier 1 carriers in the US, Europe and UK.
