Waste-fired steam turbines to power Korean steel mill

Siemens Power Generation (PG) is to supply four SST-900 reheat steam turbine generators to the South Korean construction company Daelim Industrial Co. The turbines, with a capacity of 115 MW each, will be installed in a greenfield power plant near the city of Dangjin which will operate on locally produced waste gases.

FuelCell Energy, Inc is to supply three DFC300 fuel cell-based on-site power plants to Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) in California, US. The plants will supply 750 kW of the electricity needed to run the EMWD wastewater processing facility while reducing local greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 10,400 tonnes annually.
