Perm, in the Volga federal district of Russia, is the site of a CHP plant that is to be redeveloped by Siemens.
OJSC Territorial Generating Company No. 9 (TGC-9), the regional power company in Perm, has ordered key equipment from Siemens for the reconstruction of the more than 60-year old heat and power plant.
The equipment supply includes two SGT-800 gas turbines with a capacity of 47 MW each, one SST-600 steam turbine with 28.3 MW and two heat recovery boilers.
The CHP unit will be installed in a specially constructed new building. In addition to supplying the power equipment including one generator, Siemens will be responsible for overall plant design and commissioning, including training of personnel and supervision of plant installation.
As a result of the project the thermal capacity of the Perm HPP-6 heat and power plant, which has been in operation since 1942, will increase from 57 MWth to 180 MWth.
The new €100 million CHP plant is scheduled to come on line in summer 2010.
