Microturbine technology promises reliable power for remote natural gas facility

Capstone Turbine Corporation (Nasdaq:CPST), a leading manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, has sold two C1000 power packages to its southern Californian distributor, Regatta Energy Solutions, for installation at a remote natural gas facility.

The customer already has several C65s installed at its various locations in southern California, but this latest order is significant because it is the customer’s first C1000 microturbine purchase, says Capstone.

“This customer selected Capstone microturbines because they want the high reliability and low emission benefits of our products,” said Kenda Burkhart, Regatta Energy Solutions vice president, Business Development.

“They need the assurance of round-the-clock power at the critical facility and know that’s precisely what Capstone microturbines deliver.”

“Capstone’s presence in the oil and gas market continues to grow,” said Jim Crouse, Capstone’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.

“New and existing customers are selecting Capstone Microturbines when designing new installations or replacing older internal combustion engines. We are becoming the go-to power source for customers who want clean, low maintenance and reliable on-site power.”

In June, Capstone won an order for 12 microturbines from an US oil & gas giant.
