Capstone Turbine Corp has revealed orders for its 1 MW C1000 microturbine system.
A dual mode Power Package to provide thermal and electrical power to an un-named private Christian college in central Pennsylvania, USA, is expected to be commissioned in summer 2016.
E-Finity Distributed Generation, Capstone‘s distributor for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States, secured the order, prompted by a switch to natural gas from propane for the college campus.
The plant will provide year-round electrical power to the campus and heating and cooling to various buildings and the turbine will operate in dual mode, which allows the customer to operate independently of the grid or with the grid in a load sharing capacity.
In a related development, Capstone has secured an order for four C1000 microturbines for an undisclosed Australian manufacturer. Optimal Group, Capstone’s Australian distributor, secured the order for the 4 MW facility, which is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2016.
The four natural-gas-fuelled machine will also be installed in dual mode.
