UAE district cooling firm targets Saudi Arabia

UAE-based district cooling firm DC Pro Engineering and the Saudi Technology Development and Investment Company (Taqnia)’s Energy branch have formed a joint venture with the aim of strengthening DC Pro’s presence in Saudi Arabia.

The company, which already occupies between 30% and 40% of the Saudi district cooling market, aims to get 50% of its revenue from Saudi projects by 2020 through the joint venture.

As well as its district cooling business, with Taqnia’s marketing DC Pro hopes to branch out into the Saudi renewables arena.

‘We are well known in Saudi Arabia for district cooling, but we are expanding into other industries, more specifically solar PV services, renewable energy and trigeneration,’ said Fouad Younan, DC Pro managing director. ‘Working with Taqnia Energy, we will be able to develop into these sectors and branch away from being only known as a district cooling consultant.’

The joint venture is planned for an initial year, with the option to extend further. à‚
