UAE-based district cooling firm Empower announced this week that it has extended its service range to Dubai’s rapidly expanding Al Jaddaf area.

The company is set to supply 30,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT) of cooling capacity for residential and commercial buildings as well as construction projects in Al Jaddaf.

The area is being developed as a hotel hub, with three existing hotels and five under construction. Also present are Dubai Culture Village and Dubai Healthcare City, as well as three planned residential developments and a metro station.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, Empower’s CEO, said: “Serving the Jaddaf area is an important step to ensure Empower expands its network to all districts in Dubai. Implementing a district cooling system in Jaddaf will not only lead to building efficiency, but also reduce demand on local power utilities significantly.”
