Warsaw began talks with EDF in January over the sale of the assets to the holding of three state-owned power utilities, PGE (which holds 60 per cent stake in the endeavour), Enea and Energa (20 percent each).

EDF Polska owns four cogeneration plants in Kraków, Gdańsk, Gdynia and Toruń as well as several district heating networks and plants.
