Waste fuelled CHP planned for Turkey

A 27 MWe and 90 MWth combined heat and power (CHP) project is planned for a paper mill in Turkey.

Fuelled on waste from paper plant operations, the project will be located in Corlu, some 90 km from Istanbul. It will use products such as rejected paper and paper sludge from an adjacent Modern Karton plant.

Finnish Firm Outotec is to supply equipment for the fluidised bed project that is expected to consume around 450,000 tonnes of waste wood annually. Output from the facility will be used in the paper production process.
