Pennsylvannia hotel installs CHP system

Eden Resort & Suites (pictured), a 301-room hotel and conference centre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, US, has installed a 400 kW combined heat and power system.

Part of the Best Western chain, Eden commissioned energy consulting firm Sophance to perform an energy study based on the hotel’s current and future energy needs, in a bid to reduce its rising energy costs.

The 2G Cenergy system installed produces some 3320 MWh electrical output, along with 15,750 mmBTU of heat, annually. It is fully-containerized and has a reduced noise level of <50 dBA, to assure low ambient noise around the hotel.

This High-Line CHP Module was also delivered in the hotel’s colour to blend into the existing resort infrastructure.

The hotel is now enjoying significant cost savings, according to the developers, with energy expenses the second largest cost centre after personnel in the hotel & hospitality industry.
