Plans for the reconstruction of the Minsk cogeneration plant No. 3 are expected to see work begin in 2016.
According to comments attributed to Viktor Dulinets, director of the enterprise, proposals for turn-key reconstruction of the cogeneration plant will be evaluated in September.
First commissioned in 1951 and one of the largest cogeneration plants on the Belarusian power grid, a major upgrade of the Minsk cogeneration plant No. 3 was undertaken from 2006-2009.
Supplying about 20% of industrial and domestic consumers in the city, consumers include MAZ, MTZ, Minsk Bearing Plant and Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant.
