Fire-hit CHP plant cuts fuel imports

A combined heat and power waste incineration facility in Amsterdam in the Netherlands has curbed imports of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from the UK until April, by when repairs are anticipated to have been completed.

Operated by Afval Energie Bedrijf (AEB) the fire knocked out two of the facility’s six lines following a transformer room incident. The six lines have the combined capacity to process around 1.4 million tonnes of waste annually.
