Cogen reaches Canadian bank building

The Royal Bank Melcor building in downtown Edmonton, Canada, has become the first office tower in the city to deploy cogeneration to provide both electrical power and thermal energy to the building.

The unit was supplied by Cummins Power Ecosystems.

Due to the inherent energy efficiency of the system, calculations using Natural Resource Canada software indicate an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of nearly 800 tonnes.

Cummins Power EcoSystems is an ‘alternative energy micro-utility’ and distributor of CHP products ranging in size from 5 kW to over 2 MW.
