Four CHP projects in the UK have won awards from the UK CHP Association. Battersea Fire Station (pictured) was one of 19 in London that have been fitted with mini-CHP units from Baxi-Senertec UK to deliver significant cuts in both energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions – and win the public sector award.
The industrial and commercial award went to Cofely (GDF Suez) for a trigeneration scheme being installed at the MediaCityUK project – the new Manchester home of BBC North. The residential award went to E.ON for a new community energy scheme it operates to serve 550 residential units, both public and private sector, in East London.
Finally, commercial law company Hill Dickinson won the innovation award for its unique public-private partnership agreement between national Museums Liverpool and equipment delivery partner Ener.g, which is installing a trigeneration scheme at a new Museum of Liverpool in the city – at no capital cost to the authorities.
