CHP to form part of à‚£130m Hull green facility

A combined and power plant is the centerpiece of a à‚£130m development project at King George Dock in Hull, England.

The Reality Energy Centre in the Port of Hull is projected to produce 49 MW of “green” electricity and provide between 200 and 250 jobs during a 30-month construction period.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that about 35 long-term posts will be created during the plant’s subsequent 25-year operational lifespan.

The plant will be fired by wood biomass fuel, imported from sustainable sources directly to the centre’s three-hectare site at King George Dock.

As a combined heat and power facility, the plant will produce heat which will be available for use by local industries, both within and in the vicinity of the port.
