Siemens is to deliver, erect and commission control and instrumentation for the Bhagalpur coal-fired power plant in India.

The contract involves provision of a distributed control system (DCS) for state-owned NTPC’s 4×210 MW coal-fired power plant.

Siemens (NYSE: SI) India’s managing director and CEO Sunil Mathur said NTPC has been the company’s long-term customer and together they have delivered sustainable solutions for India’s power generation requirements.

Apart from the latest deal, Siemens has also supplied equipment for three of NTPC’s super thermal power projects.

The developments include a 3×660 MW super thermal power project at Nabinagar, Bihar; a 2×800 MW super thermal power project stage-I at Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh; and a 2×800 MW super thermal power project stage-I at Lara, Chhattisgarh.
