Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a subsidiary of Indian steel producer Vizag Steel, is reportedly planning a major on-site power plant to support its future operational requirements.
The company is apparently working with India’s National Thermal Power Corp (NTPC) on the development of a supercritical coal-fired unit that will be located on a 400 acre site at Ukkunagaram.
According to local media reports the two companies have reached an outline agreement for the project, which will have an installed capacity of less than 1 GW.
