Wartsila wins 40 MW gas plant deal in Kazakhstan

Wärtsilä is to supply a 40 MW power plant in Kazakhstan.

The ‘Smart Power Generation’ plant is being built for LLP KazAzot and is scheduled to be operational in late 2016. It will provide electricity and steam for agriculture and mining industries near the city of Aktau.

Wärtsilä will deliver four of its 34SG engines running on natural gas, cogeneration units for steam generation, mechanical and electrical accessories balance of plant, as well as civil materials.

The company has now delivered around 2800 MW of power generation capacity to Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States countries.
