Uzbekistan in $167m cogeneration investment


A complex of cogeneration gas turbine units worth $167m is to be built at the Tashkent thermal power station in Uzbekistan over the next three years.
Uzbekenergo State Joint-Stock Company intends to install four cogeneration gas turbine units with a design capacity of 27 MW each.

Uzbekenergo, along with Japan International Development Agency (JICA) are performing research and technical preparatory work on the project.

The tenders for choosing a building contractor and a supplier of equipment are planned to be announced in 2016. The construction is planned to be completed in late 2017.

Tashkent combined heat and power plant provides the household and industrial consumers in Uzbekistan’s capital with heat and electricity.
