Italian company SPIG has signed two major contracts for its air cooled condensers in Egypt.
SPIG will provide its dry cooling systems to the recently-completed 1000 MW Assiut and 500 MW West Damietta power plants, which are both gas fired.
Egypt’s Orascom Construction has been appointed to carry out the engineering, procurement and construction of the plants, and is also arranging the financing for the deal.
Arona-headquartered SPIG will manufacture and supply the cooling systems. The company says that in regions with dry climate and water shortage, dry cooling solution is an ideal key technology for saving water in power plants, and preserving the environment.
POWER-GEN Europe and Renewable Energy World Europe is taking place in Milan from 21-23 June. SPIG is at Booth 3HD124.
