Siemens Energy has commissioned a new simple cycle power plant outside Peru’s capital city. Lima, which is targeted at addressing the capital city’s growing power demand.
The 200 MW Santo Domingo de los Olleros plant was built under an $80m contract awarded by Termochilca to the company in April 2011.
Siemens was responsible for full turnkey supply of the plant, which involved engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.
In addition, the company supplied main equipment for the plant, including an SGT6-5000F gas turbine, a model SGEN6-1000A generator, as well as the entire electrical and SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control equipment.
The newly commissioned natural gas fuelled power generation plant is scheduled to start service in a simple cycle mode with an option for a combined cycle plant in the next phase.
