Suzlon Energy has announced the appointment of a new chief executive for its India and emerging markets business.
Rohit Modi will now head up the operation as the wind turbine manufacturer looks to win more business in emerging markets as its operations in India face stagnation due to a withdrawal of tax benefits for wind power generation.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Mr. Modi will “focus on driving business growth in India, and oversee key emerging markets like Brazil, China and South Africa,” the company said.
Mr. Modi returns to Suzlon after serving as deputy managing director of Gammon India Ltd. He resigned from Suzlon a few years ago after serving as president of its India business.
