Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) achieved the top global market share in advanced class gas turbines in the first quarter of 2017, the company announced this week.
MHPS logged 1544 MW in orders for advanced class turbines during Q1, giving it a 31.9 per cent share of the world’s market in the advanced class segment according to data from analysis firm McCoy Power Reports.
In the Americas, the company received 1220 MW in orders and took 63 per cent of the market share.
Paul Browning, MHPS Americas president and CEO, said his firm was “thrilled by the way the market has moved in our direction with a clear preference for advanced class gas turbines”.
The company has an installed base of 146 advanced class turbines and Browning said it had booked a record number of orders for its J-series machines (pictured) in 2017.
