Greek EPC contractor METKA has signed its second deal in Jordan with Samra Electric Power Co (SEPCO).

The $104m contract comes three weeks after METKA clinched its debut deal in the country, again with SEPCO.

METKA will carry out the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of an Alstom GT13E2 gas turbine and related auxiliaries at SEPCO’s Samra Fast Track Simple Cycle Project near Amman. The work is expected to be completed by June next year.

Last month, METKA revealed it has signed its first Jordanian deal for expansion work at  SEPCO’s Samra thermal power plant, where it will add Alstom combined cycle technology to the existing open cycle gas turbines. The project is expected to take 28 months.

The Jordan deals mark METKA’s move into yet another Middle East country – it is already active in Iraq and Syria, as well as Turkey, Algeria and in Greece.
