Bord Gais, the Irish state-owned energy group has raised $642.4m in a successful bond auction, a significant development as it musters for a major renewable program.

The investment won is seen as a huge vote of confidence for the company’s near-term investment plans, which focus heavily on renewables.

Bord Gais is the largest owner of installed wind capacity in Ireland, its 132 turbines spread across 13 projects representing 15 per cent of the country’s roughly 1.7GW base.
