GE inks service agreement with Thai PTT

GE has signed a US$40 million, 13-year contractual service agreement (CSA) with Thailand’s PTT Utility Company Limited, which generates electrical power and steam for the industrial sector.

The CSA includes power output efficiency, reliability and performance guarantees for eight GE Frame 6B gas turbines at PTT Utility’s power generation plants in Rayong.

The gas turbines are currently generating more than 300 MW of power and 1200 tonnes per hour of steam for Thailand’s petrochemical industry, which is sufficient to power more than 15 petrochemical plants.

PTT Utility is a subsidiary of PTT, Thailand’s national oil and gas company.

The GE CSAs cover the supply of parts, repairs and field services for planned and unplanned outages for gas turbine-generators and accessory equipment, along with performance guarantees.

The CSA with PTT Utility follows a 13-year service agreement the power OEM signed last year with PTT Chemical Public Company Limited, to ensure the long-term reliability of nine GE gas turbines at its site, also located in Rayong.
