E.ON Russia has officially commissioned a 400 MW combined-cycle gas turbine CCGT unit at Yaivinskaya GRES power station.

With the commissioning of this unit, with a net efficiency of 56.6 per cent, E.ON has completed the construction of combined-cycle facilities envisaged by its investment programme at E.ON Russia.

E.ON Russia has commissioned 1600 MW on the basis of high-performance CCGT technology at three branches of the company in the last two years: Shaturskaya GRES, Surgutskaya GRES-2 and Yaivinskaya GRES, said Dr Bernhard Reutersberg, member of the E.ON AG Board of Management.

“The start-up of the new power unit of Yaivinskaya GRES is of special importance for E.ON Russia. With its inauguration we have completed our construction of CCGTs envisaged by the investment programme,” he said.

Overall capacity planned under E.ON Russia’s €2.8bn ($3.8bn) investment programme totals 2400 MW, including a 800 MW steam power unit under construction at Berezovskaya GRES.
