Dec. 8, 2000—Enron Wind has signed a deal with Swedish energy company Graninge to deliver the electricity from an offshore wind farm to customers in southern Sweden, according to the Reuters news agency.

The Utgrunden offshore wind park, in southern Sweden, will generate about 38 million kWh of electricity, enough to power the equivalent of about 6,000 average homes. The project is the first in Sweden to utilize large-scale, megawatt-size turbines.

Enron Wind opened offices in Sweden and Denmark earlier this year to support its growing offshore wind power activities in the Nordic region.
