cogeneration power plant with a total output of 800 kW and two new heating boilers have been commissioned in Berlin, Germany.

Replacing six old gas boilers in a housing development in Berlin’s Reinickendorf district, an MWM TCG 2016 V16 C gas engine (pictured) has been installed for housing development company Gewobag Wohnungsbau-Aktiengesellschaft Berlin, wholly-owned by the State of Berlin.

The plant provides some 1700 households, two daycare centers, and several commercial operations with district heat.

SES Energiesysteme installed the engine in a deal with Gewobag and Vattenfall.

Some 600 tons of CO2 are expected to be saved each year as a result of the upgrade.
