Atlas Copco has expanded its QES portable genset range up to 500 kVA with the addition of four models geared toward demanding worksites.

The latest models in the range are the QES 250, QES 325, QES 400 and QES 500, which are all compliant with Europe’s Stage IIIa emissions criteria and available in 50 Hz or 60 Hz versions, the firm said.

The gensets come equipped with Qc series controllers that provide on-site power within two clicks and can be fully operational in six seconds, Atlas Copco added.

With the models from 250 kVA upwards, it is possible to connect and deploy multiple gensets in a modular power plant format if paralleling, load sharing or power export is required. To realize this, users can choose between either a Qc 3012 multiple gensets synchronization controller or Qc 3111 Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) synchronization controller.

The new 250-500 kVA models are fitted with Volvo engines. Like other models in the range, the latest generators feature waterproof, corrosion-treated canopies that repel all liquids, including heavy rainfall. According to Atlas Copco, they are able to perform continuously for up to 500 hours in extreme high (+50°C maximum) and low (-25°C minimum) temperatures.

Sergio Salvador, product marketing manager for rental and construction generators, said: “Our QES generators provide a constant source of power in even the harshest weather conditions. The new additions to the range offer even more flexibility for contractors in the construction and rental sector, particularly those looking for generators with exceptional plug-and-play capabilities.”

The generators include a fuel-efficient power pack, sound attenuated steel enclosure and spillage-free frame with integrated forklift slots and lifting beams for ease of transportation. They also include a lifting frame structure that can withstand up to four times the weight of the generator, as well as a heavy-duty base frame to cope with regular mobilization.  

The company added that all models in the range require only one hour of maintenance every 500 operating hours and have large doors for easy access during servicing.
