Ansaldo wins Serbia $49m cogeneration deal

Italy’s Ansaldo Energia has been awarded a $49m contract by it’s part-owner Shanghai Electric Group to supply gas turbines and generators for a new combined-cycle cogeneration plant in Serbia.

The 200 MW Pancevo plant is owned by TE-TO Pancevo, and Shanghai Electric Group will be responsible for the EPC work on a turnkey basis.

TE-TO Pancevo is a joint venture between Centroenergoholding, owned by Gazprom Energholding, and Serbian oil company NIS.

The Pancevo plant will produce electricity and heat using natural gas as fuel. Ansaldo Energia will supply two AE64.3A gas turbines as well as its WY18Z air-cooled generators and auxiliary systems.
