Feb. 12, 2001ALSTOM has recently won three orders to supply emergency diesel generators for nuclear power plants in China and Korea.
As leader of a consortium comprising diesel engine manufacturer S.E.M.T. Pielstick, ALSTOM will deliver emergency power supply systems to three nuclear power plants in China.
Under a first contract worth 8 million euros, ALSTOM will supply LANPC’s Daya Bay and Lingao nuclear power plants (4×1,000 MW) in Guangdong Province with the fifth diesel generator, the mechanical and electrical systems and electrical interface equipment for interconnection with the existing plant. S.E.M.T. Pielstick will manufacture the engines, mainly in France.
Delivery is scheduled in August 2001 and May 2002 with commissioning planned during outages, scheduled up to March 2004.
ALSTOM will also supply the general contractor of the 2×1,000 MW Tianwan nuclear power plant in Jiangsu Province, Atomstroyexport, with reliable power supply systems. ALSTOM Power will supply 4×5 MW diesel generators, other auxiliaries, and an ALSPA P320 control system. The engines will be manufactured at S.E.M.T. Pielstick’s facilities in France. Delivery is scheduled in February 2002 and February 2003, with commissioning planned for 2004 and 2005 for the main plant.
In Korea, ALSTOM will supply equipment to HANJUNG, which is providing the main nuclear components for the 2×1,000 MW Ulchin 5-6 nuclear power plant. This contract is valued at around 5 million euros. ALSTOM Power will supply the generators and the electrical control and instrumentation systems for the 4 x 6.5 MW emergency diesel generators. The generators will be manufactured in Belfort. Delivery will begin in February 2001 and be complete in May 2002, with commisioning expected in 2004 and 2005 for the main plant.
This latest order follows those received from Hanjung for equipment supply to the Wolsong 2-3-4, Ulchin 3-4 and Yonggwang 5-6 nuclear power plants.
