Alstom supplies turbines to Russian gas-fired power plant

Alstom is in the process of installing GT13E2 gas turbines at the Nizhneturinskaya thermal power plant (TPP) in the Urals region of Russia.

The company had signed a frame agreement with Renova Group in 2011for supply of five GT13E2 gas turbines of 180 MW each to IES-Holding for use in Nizhneturinskaya and Novogorkovskaya, and Akademicheskaya TPPs.
Valued at over $618m, the IES’s project entails construction of two combined-cycle plants, with a total capacity of 460 MW.

The units are being seen as a means of improving the power supply, reducing energy cost and offer new opportunities for the development of Nizhnyaya Tura and Lesnoy cities.

The commissioning of power generating units is scheduled for December 2015.

Alstom (Euronext:à‚ ALO) Russia and CIS Global Power Sales vice president Andrey Lavrinenko said, “With this project, our leading technologies for gas-fired plants will foster development of Russian regions through power supply to communities and industrial facilities,” Lavrinenko added.
