Medco Power has decided to allocate $65m in investment in a 70 MW gas-power generation plant in Batam, Indonesia.

Fazil Alfitri, the company’s president director, said that Medco — through its subsidiary Energi Listrik Batam — signed a purchase agreement with PLN Batam, a subsidiary of state electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara, on October 15 of last year.
“The power plant will start to service Batam in 2014 and supply power for up to 20 years,” Fazil said.

The power plant is a 6B Heavy Duty Gas Turbine, produced by General Electric in France.
