Construction of Serbia’s first wind farm is set for this summer, with a subsidiary of Gazprom undertaking the development.

Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) is investing up to $209m in the 102 MW Plandiste wind power plant, which will comprise 34 turbines and an estimated 1.3 GW of estimated potential install capacity.

According to Windpower Monthly, this will be the first power infrastructure project built in Serbia for the past 25 years and the country’s first wind farm.
