Industry website wnp.pl quoted Energa‘s chief executive Roman Pionkowski as declaring interest in the facilities for Poland’s fourth largest power provider.

“Formally there is no such process, but we are getting prepared to take part in it if it actually starts,” Pionkowski said.

EDF’s five heating plants have a 15 percent share of the Polish heating market.

According to local media EDF are preparing the launch of a sale of the coal-fired heating and power plants, which are worth in the region of $506m.
