Contract awarded for 1320 MW coal plant in Vietnam

Finnish global consulting and engineering firm, Pàƒ¶yry (OMX:à‚ POY1V) has been awarded the owner’s engineer services assignment for the Van Phong 1 2×660 MW coal-fired power plant project in Vietnam by Sumitomo Corporation.

Van Phong 1 is a coal-fired power plant project consisting of two similar blocks, each block including aà‚ once-through pulverised coal fired steam generator and a steam turbine. The project will use supercritical steam values, which improves the plant efficiency and reduces emissions from the power plant compared to traditional subcritical design.
