Petcoke CHP plant for Romanian refinery

Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract for a 70 MWe circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator by LUKOIL Energy & Gas Romania. The generator will become part of a new CHP plant to be located in LUKOIL's oil refinery in Ploiesti, Romania.

CFB steam generator for CHP plant in Poland

A subsidiary of the Foster Wheeler's Global Power Group has been awarded a contract for a 66 MWe circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator by Fortum Heat Polska for a new CHP plant to be located in Czestochowa in southern Poland.

Fuel cell unit size is rising; numbers are not

The average size of installed stationary fuel cells is rising, even if the overall numbers are not – according to Kerry Adamson of the UK-based Fuel Cells Today website and speaking at the Grove Fuel Cells Forum in London. The average unit size of 400 kW in 2006 has risen to 650 kW in 2007, said Adamson, and is projected to reach above 1 MW by the end of the year – although the overall number of units sold refused to budge upwards.

Biomass/fossil boiler for CHP plant in Norway

Kvaerner Power, part of Norway's Aker Kvaerner group, is to provide an industrial-size, multi-fuel-fired boiler plant to Porin Prosessivoima Oy for incorporation into a new CHP plant being built at Kemira's factory in Pori on the west coast of Finland.
