The 660 MW Cirebon coal fired power plant has commenced operation in Indonesia with the Japanese owners – Marubeni stating that the plant is being powered by supercritical technology and is capable of supplying Bali and Java for the next 30 years.

Electricity generated at the $850m power plant in West Java will be supplied to Bali and Java for 30 years, the company said.

PT PLN, a state utility company, will purchase the electricity produced at the $850m Cirebon power plant at a price of 4.43 US cents per kWh.
