Port Qasim, near Karachi in Pakistan is to host a 300 MW coal-fired power plant as the port’s authority seeks to develop the port area.

Dubai-based Burj Power will build the plant at Port Qasim and it is eventually expected to generate a 600 MW capacity.

Port Qasim Authority chairman Saeed Ahmed Khan was quoted by the Business Recorder as saying that Burj Power will contribute financially and bring its own human resource to develop and execute the project as per the policies of Private Power & Infrastructure Board.
