The 600 MW Seyitomer lignite power plant has been sold for $2.25bn by Turkey’s privatisation authority.

Industrial Info reports that Celikler Insaat was among the 16 companies who bid for the privatisation tender, placing the highest offer for the plant.
In December 2012, Turkey had sold operating rights of Bogazici EDAS and Gediz EDAS for $1.96bn and $1.23bn respectively.

Earlier, it was announced that the overall capacity in privatization is about 16,000MW and public authorities expect to get nearly $10bn of privatization income after electricity generation plant sales.
