Three solar PV systems on the roof of Tony Group Autoplex in Waipi'o, on O'ahu Hawai'i, will supply power for the company's Nissan, Honda and Hyundai car dealerships.

Installed by REC Solar, Inc. the development will provide around 20% of Autoplex's electrical requirements.
Estimated cost savings from the first year of use are more than $104,000, while the over the span of 25 years, savings are estimated at more than $5 million.

'Financially savvy companies in Hawai'i are looking at solar as a cost control mechanism during challenging economic times,' said Angiolo Laviziano, CEO of REC Solar.

Stan Masamitsu, president of Tony Group said that there 'was a compelling business case to move forward with this project, as it not only allows us to realize immediate savings in our monthly utility costs, it also minimizes the impact of future increases in energy costs.'
