First combined cycle cogen plant for Macedonia

Alstom will supply one GT13E2 gas turbine equipment package, one COMAX steam turbine equipment package, two TOPAIR air cooled turbogenerators, condensing and district heat exchanger packages and related site advisory services. The new plant will, says the company, be the first modern, efficient and low-emission gas-fired combined cycle power and district heating plant to serve the region's developing electricity demand. It will also feed up to 160 MW of thermal energy into the city's district heating system.

Cartiere del Garda, a Lecta group company based in Italy, has begun construction of a new cogeneration plant to supply energy to both its Riva del Garda factory in northern Italy and the local community. The power plant will meet the paper mill's demands for electricity, heating and cooling – and supply the district heating system which multi-utility Alto Garda Servizi is to install for the Riva council.
