Photon Energy connects eight solar plants to Hungary grid

Dutch renewables firm Photon Energy has announced that its subsidiary Photon Energy Solutions has grid-connected eight solar PV plants in Hungary.

The plants cover nine hectares in Monor and are expected to generate around 6.9 GWh of electricity per year.

Photon Energy chief executive Georg Hotar said: “Taking a project from inception to completion with the end result being a fully-operating power plant is among the most rewarding experiences in our business. Today’s addition to our portfolio takes us yet another step closer to our year-end 2021 portfolio target of 75 MWp in Hungary.”

Hungary is a core market for Amsterdam-headquartered Photon, which also has a significant project pipeline in Australia.
