New gas engine oil from Chevron

13 July 2010 – Manufacturer of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants Chevron Products Company has introduced a new lubricating oil specifically designed for large stationary gas engines in gas compression, processing or cogeneration applications that operate in extreme environments.

The new oil, ‘HDAX’ 7200 Low Ash, is particularly suited for lean-burn and stoichiometric four-stroke engines operating under high load, high temperature conditions. It is designed to give excellent wear protection, helping to maximize equipment life and resulting in minimal downtime and maintenance costs.

HDAX 7200 Low Ash Gas Engine Oil SAE 40 provides both exceptional engine performance, minimizing the formation of engine deposits, and low wear – protecting against piston, ring, and liner scuffing, scoring, and wear, says Chevron.

The oil is recommended for four-stroke engines manufactured by all the major players, including Caterpillar, Dresser-Rand, GE Jenbacher, MWM, Rolls Royce, Wärtsilä and Waukesha.
