Improved gas genset from MWM

26 April 2010 – Mannheim, Germany-based MWM has introduced the new TCG 2020 K gas genset, following the successful introduction of efficiency enhancement packages for all three of its gas genset series.

The natural gas-powered engine is highly robust, suitable for isolated operation, and features the same output values, along with increased inlet air temperatures as for ISO conditions, which is especially valuable for deployment in Asia and tropical countries, says the company.

The engine, which is designed for operation with natural gas, supersedes its predecessor of the same designation and the previous model, and will be built in V12 and V16 versions. The development has resulted in a 10% performance increase and improved efficiency, says MWM, resulting in an electrical output of 1125 kW for the V12 variant and 1500 kW for the V16. With a 400 V generator, the electrical efficiency for both cylinder types is 41%.
