Cogeneration CHP, Europe, Strategic Development

Antwerp cogeneration plant showcase in Brussels

ExxonMobil’s refinery, it’s second largest in Europe, has a capacity of approximately 305,000 barrels per day.
In addition to generating steam, the cogeneration facility utilizes heat created in the gas-turbine exhaust to heat crude oil – the initial step in the process of converting crude oil into refined products. This alternative heat recovery technology is what sets Antwerp apart from other cogeneration units, the company says.

The US Department of Energy has announced that it will invest nearly US$8 billion in state and local weatherization and energy efficiency efforts as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
