UK lime producing company Singleton Birch has revealed plans for an advanced thermal technology facility at the company’s Melton Ross site in North Lincolnshire.
The gasification plant will supply electricity to Singleton Birch as well as waste heat, while any surplus electricity will be sold into the grid. Energos has been named as preferred technology partner for the £40 million ($55 million) facility.
The plant will treat a variety of local waste and biomass materials, which might include leftover household waste and will have capacity to process 80,000 tonnes of residual waste.
It will produce 5.75 MW.
