On-site power plant order from Angola

ETA Star International LLC has ordered a 36 MW power plant from Wärtsilä to supply a new cement works in Angola.

The cement works is being erected at Chindonga, near the town of Sumbe in Kwanza Sul province in Angola.

Owned and operated by Fabrica de Cimento do Kwanza-Sul Ltda, the 4200 tonnes per day works is being constructed and commissioned by Dubai-based ETA Star.

The plant is due to be handed over in June 2010 and marks Wärtsilä’s first power plant order from Angola.

The Finnish company will deliver four Wärtsilä 20V32 diesel generating sets running on heavy fuel oil and is providing all engineering and equipment for the plant.
