IEA ‘Collaborative’ to present policies likely to be effective on CHP/DHC

The Collaborative, launched in March this year and itself a public-private sector partnership, is led by the IEA but includes participation by the US Department of Energy, COGEN Europe and the International District Heating Association, alongside several industry players. In its first six months, the organization has gathered data on the status of CHP and DHC from 37 countries and is now compiling a database of government and regulatory policies that affect the sector.

The latest step in a project to modernize and upgrade Hungary’s district heating systems is the fitting of 12 natural gas-fuelled engines from GE Energy Jenbacher to what is said to be the largest new district heating project in the country, being installed in the city of Dunaujvaros.
